Reading List: Change We Can Stomach in The New York Times

Today’s Op-Ed Change We Can Stomach goes through some arguments to encourage small farming. It reads a bit like a plea for those with money to continue spending it on high quality food, in an anything-that-gets-us-there kind of way. I wish he’d gone one step further and put us food growing gardeners into the story too.

Reading list: Monsanto’s Harvest of Fear in Vanity Fair

Set some time aside to read Monsato’s Harvest of Fear in this month’s Vanity Fair. It’s a mainstream media magazine article covering the history of Monsanto, their legal and political tactics, Roundup and GM Roundup Ready seed, PCBs and bovine growth hormone. It’s a good overview and a good place to start if you’re not already familiar with this story.
