One of my favorite gardening books is Carol Deppe’s Breed Your Own Vegetable Varieties: The Gardener’s and Farmer’s Guide to Plant breeding and seed saving.
I’ve recently come across her website where you can find links to her books for sale on Amazon, and download some excerpts. You can also find her contact information if you want to ask her questions about her books and inquire about seeds for sale.
One of my son’s gave this to me for Christmas, have not gotten too far in to it as I was/ am alternately reading other things. He gave me a forest gardening set too. I like what she has to say. So far a big impression was made on me when I read her thoughts on people feeling they can be self sufficient when we should try to be more community minded & sharing and that we don’t know what to expect..a natural disaster, caring for a loved one or…? can cut into our time to garden, etc.
