I’m growing three different kinds of lettuce that I got from Lieven, my plant breeding friend in Belgium.
Sherwood:
Pinokkio (Pinocchio):
and Doree de Printemps:
I guess pictures of lettuce can only be so exciting, but if you could taste it you would be amazed. Home grown lettuce is so nice!
I always enjoy photos of lettuce! The varieties look very nice.
I’ve taken the somewhat lazy route this year an planted mixed seed from Seeds of Italy. Maybe I should look at the varieties and their ratio in the pack and make my own mix up through offerings on SSE.
The varieties look nice! I especially like the look of the Pinokkio. I grew salad bowl and then standard unnamed butter lettuce and iceberg to fill in some gaps.
They are all enormous but some have been completely decimated by slugs. I figured I have so many that I may as well let the slugs eat some.
Next year – different types 🙂
Actually, for those of us who like salad greens, pictures of lettuce ARE exciting! Where I am it’s too hot to grow now (mine bolted weeks ago, and it was over 100ºF on Saturday) but I’m waiting for the cooler weather to plant more. Yours look delicious.
