An article on Daily Kos has a few more ideas on bees and CCD.
I posted earlier on my own lack of bees this year, and interestingly I just remembered I live right next to a mobile telephone cell.
My garden is in the shadow of this array of antennas, and my mobile phone always has a full strength signal at home:
The thing about mobile phone masts and CCD doesn’t seem to hold water. There are people out there keeping bees successfully right under the masts. It’s US problem, mostly on the east coast. I suspect it’s got something to do with pollution, chemicals in hives, and industrial scale US beekeeping. They’re still looking for the answer, but there’s no doubt the US has seen widepread bee disappearances before.
