Okay, so who else besides me noticed the TV recycling info. How many old TVs do you think get remade into new ones?

hmmm… I knew about recycling TVs, so that didn’t hit me. I didn’t really notice anything else. Though I am glad to say that our household does not put out a lot of waste. Almost no aluminum cans at all. Glass and most of our plastic is recycled else where but ALL our organic “product” is recycled onsite. Makes me feel good inside but not enough to think I’m perfect. We still look for ways to improve. One way to improve is to not buy stuff. TVs as example. We have one. Most people we know have at least 2 or more. They also keep getting new ones. Ours is 6 years old and the set it replaced was 20 years old.

It’s pretty much the same with our TV. We have one of the older types, about 5 years old now, and the one it replaced was about 18 years old.
What I meant by recycling TVs is they just changed to the new flat screen types, and I don’t think parts from the old kind of TVs can be used for the new ones. They work on completely different principles. One is digital, and the other is analog.
I’m with you too. The best way to recycle is to not buy the thing in the first place!
