Colorado Black Garlic

July 28, 2008 · Filed Under Garlic

Lee, a reader of this blog, recently contacted me concerning Colorado Black garlic.  He is looking for planting stock, and is unable to locate any in the US.  The Garlic Store usually carries it, but doesn’t have any this year.

I would normally be happy to send him some, but since I’m in Europe I can’t import it into the US.  I also suspect my own planting stock is infected with a virus.

Is there anyone reading this who lives in the US and could send some to Lee?  If so, please send me an email or leave a comment here making sure to put your correct email address in the box provided, and I’ll put you in direct contact with Lee.

Colorado Black garlic is really hard to come by this year for some reason. I don’t have any, but I’d love to find some.

Well just thought I would try one last time this year. I am Lee Taylor (listed above) and am still looking for Colorado Black Garlic and also a couple others–Wild Fire and Locati. If anyone in the USA has any of these type please get hold of me soon as planting time is soon upon me because of my climate.

Well its a year later and I am going to be getting some Colorado Black bulbils from this site in canada. You have to pay for a certificate and airmail but I think it will be worth it.

I hope this helps someone that might be looking for this variety. It will take a couple years to get bulbs but at least I will be able to get it back in the USA and be able to sell it.

I found a source for Locati and I am getting WildFire from a couple places. So thanks for your efforts.

Good luck Lee. I’m glad you were able to find everything you were looking for. Send me an email and remind me if you want to trade varieties in a few months, or if I remember I’ll get in touch with you.
