Hi John, I believe you! There are a lot of other people who grow and love them. In fact almost everyone I know who grows potatoes grows them too. The Charlotte potatoes were nice, only I thought the other potatoes I grew at the same time were more interesting.

I didn't plant the tubers you sent me. If I had planted them right away instead of worrying over if I should chit them or if it was warm enough outside, they would have been fine. I just didn't have the pots of dirt in place, and didn't do it in time.

I saved some seed from the Charlottes. Maybe I will try to grow some next year, and see what I get...

Hi Patrick,

A pity the first set of tubers rotted! I wonder if they tasted like what you'd expect a supermarket potato to taste like because they came from one!? I must say that my Charlottes have a superlative nutty taste far superior to anything you can buy!!!!

Best wishes
John

You're reminded me that soon I'll be able to harvest my potatoes! I look forward to tasting them! This I tried the purple ones for the mashed potatoes.

Hi Robin,

Thanks for the comment and for stopping by.

What was I thinking when I wrote this, it wasn't clear at all! I meant to say John sent me some tubers that rotted before I planted them, so then had to go out and buy some more. I did grow the potatoes in the picture in my garden this year.

Too bad you didn't get those planted. We planted garbage can potatoes this year. MUCH easier than the standard way, even if we didn't get it totally right the first time. Take a look on BB to see!
